留学・派遣OVERSEAS / DOMESTIC STUDY

My name is Byambaa Batgerel, and I am a psychiatrist and psychotherapist from Mongolia. In Japanese, I will refer to myself as ビャムバー バトゲレル, like this. Isn’t it amazing? When I was a child, many times I watched and heard about people in Japan’s culture and education, especially high morals and ethics, which were more connected to me. Since this time, I started dreaming that I would go to Japan one day. We all have a purpose for doing something to someone. Maybe just for yourself, other people, animals, nature, or the whole world. I had chosen the second option for helping and supporting people who needed health services, especially psychiatric help. During my student life, I recognized my niece’s deficiency of communication skills and attention. Even his mother didn’t believe in me, but she had taken her boy for psychiatric evaluation without notifying me. Guess what happened then. It matched my supposition that he was an autistic child. She was a highly educated woman except for knowledge about mental health related to her loved one’s trouble of suffering. After I experienced this case in my life, I started to observe the people’s psychological situation for the short time around me. Furthermore, I realized there are more people who need professional mental health assistance, even in my family. According to one significant research, the result was astonishing, which revealed that one person in four people in the world had recovered from mental illness once in their lifetime without perceiving it themselves. Psychiatry is a more exceptional field than others, as some of the psychiatric division’s subjects are still classified. Japan is a highly developed country in the world, unquestionably, especially in health science divisions. I really appreciate that Kansai Medical University’s capacity and rank are among the top in Japan and Asia from the bottom of my heart. Moreover, the Department of Neuropsychiatry provided modern technological devices very useful for psychiatric disorders, not just limited to medications. Such as ECT and rTMS, those non-invasive treatments are highly recommended to patients with depression whose illness is resistant to medication and frequency of recurrence is high. At last, medicinal treatment with various agents of the new era. As I learn permanently, the more I feel my current knowledge is truly insufficient. That’s the best place I desire to improve my academic skills, knowledge, and degree for sure, and moreover, make professional research. I really appreciate that I have been given this chance from Kansai University, Neuropsychiatry Department. Thank you all for having me.
